Have you thought about what you would do if things really did go wrong? How would you manage? Would you be able to out think close on 60 million others, all of them seeking shelter and protection from whatever forces are taking away their way of life. Would you take to the hills or stay put?

There are many reasons for needing to have some level of preparedness. Maybe a pending natural disaster such as localised flooding, famine or drought. Power and fuel shortages due to adverse weather, strike or embargoes, may be you live in times where a repressive force seeking to take away your freedom of choice and liberty.

Being prepared isn't just for boy scouts, its for any one who cares about their future and the future of their family, friends and local community. Having in the absolute basics is vital for any one wanting to ride out what ever happens, having in more than 72 hours of food, some form of heating/cooking and illumination makes life more comfortable and of course fresh drinking water should always be at the top of your list. But you may well be needing far more than the basics to ride out what ever storm you believe may be on the horizon.
